That modern authentication is more on the Office 365 and Microsoft 365 side of things (business and enterprise subscription) than “outlook.com” (aka personal email) thing. If you have an “outlook.com” account, it doesn’t matter whether you pick Exchange or “outlook.com”. It will be handled automatically.
