Microsoft Beats Privacy Claim Over Office 365 Email on Second Go – Bloomberg Law

Microsoft Corp. beat a privacy claim brought by a group of Office 365 customers who alleged the company shared data with Facebook and other third parties without their consent, when a federal judge in California reversed her prior ruling.

Frank Russo, Koonan Litigation Consulting LLC, and Sumner Davenport & Associates LLC say that Microsoft provided customer data to hundreds of subcontractors, some of which suffered data breaches.

Microsoft scanned 400 billion of its customers’ emails in order to obtain insights for its programmatic interface, the Graph Security API, the class complaint says.
