The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is now available at its lowest price ever – Expert Reviews

The Surface Pro 8 is now at its lowest ever price, with a hefty £200 discount currently available on Amazon. Those who have been curious about the hybrid tablet have never had a better excuse to finally get in the game.

Our recent round-up of the best 2-in-1 laptops singled out the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 as the best detachable tablet on the market. In our full-length review, it got full marks and our Recommended award: we praised the Pro 8’s versatility and sleek design, which offer a significant upgrade on previous models.

The base version – Intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD – has been reduced from £1,000 to just £800. There are similar savings to be had on i7 versions, models with more RAM and storage as well models that come bundled with a keyboard. A version consisting of an i5, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD and a detachable keyboard is available for £1,164, a whopping £295 drop from its previous price.

The Surface Pro line has led the way in the convertible laptop sector since its debut, with the Pro 8 reigniting interest after the Pro 7 failed to impress.

The Pro 8 adds new features and hardware upgrades while retaining the strong core features of its predecessor. The keyboard is tactile and pleasant to type on, the kickstand offers great custom adjustability and the 3:2 aspect ratio on the touchscreen remains productivity friendly.

Our review found the redesigned chassis and new connector layout to improve the overall design and usability of the device. The Pro 8’s display also showed improvement – at 13in, it is larger than the Surface Pro 7’s 12.3in panel, and has 120Hz maximum refresh rate as well as a very respectable resolution of 2,880 x 1,920. The Pro 8 also performed well in our benchmark tests, outstripping previous models in all tests and even doubling their scores in some cases.

We found the Surface Pro 8 to be a highly versatile and usable piece of kit at its standard price, and with this price cut taken into account, we’re happy to renew and redouble our recommendation.
